From Guitar to Joystick: A Panel Discussion on Use of Music in the Gaming Industry

Steve Schnur, President of Music – Electronic Arts (EA) Video Games

Louis-Philippe and his team handle music licensing matters and requests for all of Ubisoft’s production and marketing needs. Along with copyright clearances, they supply teams with a vast pool of musical suggestions and collaborate on musical choices for successful brands such as Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance, Far Cry, Splinter Cell and Rocksmith. Prior to Ubisoft, he spent two years working for the publisher Third Side Music while participating in several music initiatives.

Steve Schnur has been a professional musician, record and publishing executive, music supervisor, songwriter, composer, record producer, label president, TV executive producer and more. Along the way, he has moved the needle and changed the game in the fields of music, movies, television, sports, video games and digital interactive entertainment around the world.
He has been profiled by the New York Times, London Financial Times and CNN, named ‘One of the Most Creative People in Entertainment’ by Entertainment Weekly, ‘One of the Most Powerful People in the Music Business’ and ‘One of the Top 20 Power Players in the Digital Entertainment’ by Billboard, and ‘One of the Top 25 Power Players in the New Hollywood’ by The Wall Street Journal.
