May 8, 2024 – Neighboring Rights 101

May 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

The Copyright Society of the South is pleased to host a presentation on all things Neighboring Rights. Darcie Molina, from Kollective Neighboring Rights, will join us virtually to provide an overview for both sound recording owners and artists in this complicated area of our industry, along with Ryan Lehning from SoundExchange, who will join us in person to discuss legal issues related to these rights (in particular, how US rights owners are treated). There will be plenty of time for questions, so be ready to learn more about how Neighboring Rights fits into the world of royalty collections and bring any questions you may have for our experts on hand.

Guest Speakers:

Darcie Molina, VP of Client Relations for Kollective Neighbouring Rights, has worked in Neighbouring Rights for 7 years, managing the KNR Client Relations team and helping performers, labels, and their teams understand this complex area of the music business and maximize their earnings.   Prior to working in the music industry she managed teams and client relations in the special education sector for 15 years.
