On November 30, 2017, Stan Soocher visited the Copyright Society of the South to discuss major developments in the world of copyright in 2017.
Stan Soocher is the long-time Editor-in-Chief ofEntertainment Law & Finance and a tenured Associate Professor of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado’s Denver Campus, where he has served as Music Department Chair. In addition, Stan is an entertainment attorney and a recipient of the State Bar of Texas “Texas Star Award” for “a major and noteworthy contribution to the practice of entertainment law.” He is also a multi-recipient of ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards for Excellence in Music Journalism, as well as author of the books Baby You’re a Rich Man: Suing the Beatles for Fun & Profit andThey Fought the Law: Rock Music Goes to Court.
2017 is Stan’s 21st consecutive year presenting “Copyright Year in Review” to the Copyright Society of the South.
Additionally, Stan has presented solo speeches and/or participated on panels on entertainment law and industry developments, at among many other venues: the American Bar Association, N.Y.
